Lias’s war trench setting, which is a permanent fixture, is somehow perfect

– Malvern Observer

Designer Katie Lias’ trenches, with their barbed wire and revetments as tight as corset stays, loom large throughout… The setting does indeed compliment the work of a talented cast

– Malvern Gazette

Beautiful set designs really allow you to immerse yourself in the post-war setting of the Chatterley's country home

– Kent Online

One aspect of this production which is interesting is Katie Lias’ design. The set relies on a permanent backdrop of the trenches with scattered props to signpost the various locations in the piece. The constant reminder of war, and its impact on Chatterley, both physically and on his relationship with his wife, is certainly impactful, and is a careful decision which does enhance the key ideas of this piece
